The range of styles that the club has put on has varied widely… regulars have witnessed foot-tapping folk-pop, melancholy blues, talented singer-songwriters and even hints of country and Americana. Downend responding with enthusiastic singing along and tapping of feet… so early in the evening! The signs were good. Sounding great so far, we'll be raiding the stage in the near future. Come along for a fine evening of songs, tunes and fun from us and the floor singers which could be you!

Excited to be back in the studio today, with our fabulous string quartet! It will be a fun festive show of ceilidh dancing, music, song, performances and local history for all the family! Jul 01,  · Biographies: Alex Cumming started to learn Piano Accordion when he was 6 years old and has now become a regular on the English folk scene as an Accordionist, Singing and Ceilidh Caller. As well as performing with Nicola Beazley, Alex performs with Newcastle based vocal quartet, The Teacups, BBC Young Folk Award winner, James Findlay, and ceilidh band Dyer:Cumming’s.
